Pongo incarne le renouveau du Kuduro (mélange de break dance, semba angolaise et électro). Ayant fui son pays natal vers le Portugal, l’artiste multidisciplinaire s’est façonnée à travers la danse puis le chant avant de faire ses armes avec le groupe Buraka Som Sistema. Aujourd’hui en solo, elle révolutionne le genre en mixant ses racines africaines avec l’électro, la bass music, et la tribal pop. Son Ep « Baia » est un mélange détonnant et métissé qui donne envie de danser à tous les coups. Attention, la révélation de la nouvelle scène musicale mondiale débarque chez nous !

Pongo have played a big role in the renaissance of Kuduro (a combination of break-dance, Angolan Semba and electro). After fleeing her country of birth to settle in Portugal, this multi-talented artist first started out as a dancer before moving on to singing and then cutting her teeth with the Bouraka Som Sistema. Now a solo artist, she is revolutionising the genre, mixing her African roots with electro, bass music and tribal pop.
